Troiareuke Skin Complex Formula Ampoule โ€” Mela-C Formula* [REVIEW]

One of my skin concerns since high school is dealing with acne scars. I’ve tried several brightening products in order to address this problem. I’m still battling with PIH ๐Ÿ˜… so I was lucky enough to receive this toner mist from @troiareuke_official during the @skinfluencersph Grand Meetup โค Read below to see my thoughts:

Claims
โ€” Different from most toners that only tones the skin. It keeps skin toning and moisture
โ€” Can be used as a mist to maximize skin moisturising
โ€” Boosting with Troi Ampoule Water Essence
โ€” Calming and soothing

Notes
โ€” Paraben, sulfate, alcohol, silicone, EU Allergen free
โ€” NOT FA safe

Key Ingredients
โ€” Niacinamide: anti-aging and brightening
โ€” Sodium Hyaluronate: promotes wound healing
โ€” Pine bark extract: skin protecting
โ€” Polysaccharide: calming

The Mela-C Formula has these additional key ingredients:
โ€” Ellagic acid (Pomegranate extract): 5 times stronger than albutine; strong whitening effect
โ€” Phytochemical: brightening and whitening

Packaging & Mist
The packaging is a transparent, plastic spray bottle. The mist is precise but it’s not fine. Two sprays suffice already, but I add another one for the neck area.

Price: $45.90 or ~โ‚ฑ2,322 for 180ml

My Experience
It is true to its claims when it comes to moisturising and brightening. Each spray gives a subtle, healthy glow. I feel refreshed whenever I use this toner mist. However, this did not help with calming and soothing my acne. Anti-aging properties weren’t also seen because I’m still young and it would take a lot of time to see if a product is good at anti-aging. However, I do feel $45.90 is too expensive for a toner with claims that I could also see with other cheaper products. The mist isn’t as fine, and I feel a bit iffy about it. It also contains fragrance, so watch out for this.

Overall, if the price could go down, I would gladly repurchase this ๐Ÿ’› but for now, I will have to pass.

Happy 1st Anniversary, @peachyskinnn!

@peachyskinnn turns one today! ๐Ÿค

I started my account last April 27, 2019 as a skincare diary for myself. I never had the perfect, glass skin while growing up and college life had definitely made my skin worse. I’ve thought of putting up my own blog after seeing several skincare accounts on my feed.

This account helped me become more accepting of my skin condition. I learned what it means to be an advocate of #acnepositivity, something I wished I learned during my teenage years. It also served as an outlet when I’m really stressed due to life. I really like taking photos (not selfies, but hopefully I’ll be more confident enough to post more) and product shoots turned out to be fun. I also used to write articles on my junior high school’s paper, so putting up a blog is good for me to retain what I’ve learned in English class (lol) but the real reason is that I find myself being more able to express what I want to say through writing.

As this skincare blog turns one, I hope I will be able to inspire everyone who stumbles on my account to do whatever they want! If putting up a blog makes you happy, go for it. If you love posting #OOTDs, then post to your hearts’ content! What matters is that doing these seemingly little things make you feel better about yourselves.

Thank you so much for all the love you have been giving me and my blog! โค

My little passion project! Never thought it’s already been a year.

REVIEW: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

I know I’ve already made a review about this cleanser, but this is more of an updated review of this product! Since the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), I wasn’t really able to take my staple cleansers to the province. I’m glad I left this cleanser in Bicol. Anyways, let’s dive into the review!

CLAIMS
โ€” A pore cleansing foam with Jeju volcanic clusters to absorb serum and purify pores

KEY INGREDIENT
โ€” Jeju’s Volcanic Scoria: an alkaline substance with pH level similar to the human body; an ingredient free from impurities

THOUGHTS
โ€” Texture: soft, thick, and rich; lathers beautifully. It has little beads that are not abrasive for deep cleansing
โ€” Scent: fragrant but not overpowering

MY EXPERIENCE
This is one of the cleansers that made me fall in love with K-beauty! It definitely controls my sebum production without it being too stripping. However, it is more stripping than low pH cleansers. I do not mind that though. I use this in the AM and PM and it prevents further breakouts! While it does not prevent hormonal acne (I doubt any product can really prevent this), it lessens them. I am very oily and acne prone so having just one to two zits per month is already a huge success!

It is also able to remove light makeup (tinted sunscreen, eyebrow pencil, and lip balm) which shortens my skincare routine. Whenever I use this, it leaves a refreshing feeling. This basically made me love washing my face!

Note: This packaging is already discontinued.

COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild Review

#pr #gifted COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild [REVIEW]

Finally, the last review for the AC Collection series! This was gifted by @stylekorean_global during their Try Me, Review Me event with @cosrx โค COSRX is a certified K-beauty favourite. I’m not new to trying this brand but it’s a different experience incorporating this collection in my skincare routine.

The Cosrx AC Collection Mild has a pH level of 4.0~5.0 and has the following key ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, CentellAC-Rx Complex, and Gluconolactone.

From https://www.cosrx.com/cosrx-ac-collection-calming-liquid-mild-1.html

A gentle, soothing daily toner that removes excess sebum and prevents further breakouts

๐‘ด๐’š ๐‘ฌ๐’™๐’‘๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’†๐’๐’„๐’†
It has a runny, watery texture. I prefer using this without a cotton pad because it provides more hydration and it feels more soothing that way. I could see that my pimples slowly reduce redness when I use this toner. It’s also gentle enough for sensitive skin! It prevents further breakouts but I do still get acne when it’s hormonal.

Overall, I would repurchase once I’m out of toners.

Pyunkang Yul ACNE Facial Cleanser Review

#gifted #pr Pyunkang Yul ACNE Facial Cleanser [REVIEW]

Thank you @gobloomandglow for sending this product during the @skinfluencersph Grand Meetup held last January 25 โค Go Bloom and Glow is the official PH distributor of big K-beauty brands such as Jumiso and PKY @pyunkangyul.ph. You can also get P100 off when you use my code “TANZOR100” with a minimum spend of P1,000.

The PKY ACNE Facial Cleanser is free from parabens, sulfate, alcohol, silicone, EU allergens, and is fungal acne (FA) safe. Formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin, this hypoallergenic cleanser claims to purge the deepest impurities, without stripping the skin. Its key ingredients are Ledebouriella sesamoids extract, White willow extract, salicylic acid (BHA) and tannin, Tiger lily, Copper tripeptide, and Centella asiatica extract.

It comes in a tube packaging and dispenses a good amount of product with ease. The packaging is a stunner as it is minimalistic. It retails for P430.

The product’s texture is clear and slightly feels like gel. I am bummed that this does NOT lather as much as other facial cleansers I’ve tried, although it starts to make bubbles when you wet your face first before applying this product.

I have oily, acne-prone skin and this was a good AM cleanser for me as I don’t really need “heavy duty” skincare products to address my skin concerns during my morning routine. It’s true to its claims as I feel my skin is deeply cleansed when using this without it feeling dry. While it does work great, I feel that I’ve been used to cleansers with more “oomph” to their pimple fighting abilities. It’s so gentle that I could use this cleanser to wash off babies’ faces.

To summarize:
Pros: Gentle, perfect for every day use, no irritations, safe from harmful ingredients, quite affordable, nonstripping
Cons: May be too gentle

Would I repurchase? I honestly would despite this cleanser being too gentle for my skin because it’s a great AM cleanser โค It’s a “no fuss” product and easily lovable.

In Her Element Butterlips Conditioning Color*: A Review

You can avail yours at inherelement.com

Happy International Women’s Month โ™ก Thank you so much @inher_element for sending your newest products for me to try! โค IHE is a local brand that goes by the saying “Maximum glow for Minimum effort Skincare”.

Their newest item, the Butterlips Conditioning Color, has a balm & lipstick hybrid formula, which delivers a juicy wash of moisturizing colour on the lips. It’s designed to be comfortable and low-maintanenance during the day, so that you don’t need to take too much precious time retouching.

It comes in three shades: Mayari, Tala, and Hanan โ™ก A little fun fact! The shade names were derived from Philippine Mythology. Mayari was the goddess of the moon; Tala was the goddess of the stars; and Hanan was the goddess of the morning/dawn. They were all demigods โ€“ half mortal, half god.

Shades: Hanan, Tala, Mayari
Up close and personal

My experience:
The product’s packaging was a little wobbly when I twist it to elevate the product. Unfortunately, one of the shades, Tala, didn’t fully twist back to its normal placement. It’s a good thing that their caps are not easily falling off, so it won’t bother me anytime soon. It seamlessly glided on my lips and it felt light and smooth, a little lighter than the usual balm type. The shades suited well for my skin type (I have fair skin). It’s not transferproof, but its longetivity is decently fair for a balm (2-3hours). It doesn’t emphasize the lines on my lips, and Hanan (my current favourite) instantly helped my skin looked brighter! They also have a decent amount of product, which I believe will last a long time.

I’m also glad to announce that you can get 5% off your purchase in IHE’s website; there’s no minimum spend โ™ก Use @skinfluencersph’s code: “SPFH” upon checkout. The promo will last until March 24, 2020.

Each product costs PHP345; the whole set costs PHP875

Aloe Vera for Skin Aloe Activator* โ€ข Review

One of the simplest yet effective products I’ve had.

This is a slightly longer review because this is such a versatile product. The reason it doesn’t fit into one category is because it can do basically anything! The Aloe activator claims to be a cleanser, toner, moisturiser, etc. I will share my thoughts about each use:

๐Ÿ’ง As a cleanser: It is not stripping and similarly works as cleansing water, except this doesn’t fully remove makeup. Although, if you’re always on the go, all you need to do is wipe your face with a cotton pad soaked with this and you’ll definitely feel fresh after. I use this during times I wake up late and need to hurry up. This item definitely saves me more time since I use this and just sunblock.

๐Ÿ’ง As a toner: It makes my skin feel really hydrated, and I do feel it’s more prepared for intense skincare steps such as masking, serums, etc. My skin is able to absorb the succeeding products better when I used this.

๐Ÿ’ง As a moisturiser: Since it’s water-based, on cold days, it feels the hydration and moisture it gives is not enough, even for oily skin. However, this is so refreshing once you start to layer it. It gives no oily feeling after too.

Bonus! ๐Ÿ’ง As a sheet mask: I made a DIY sheet mask using this and cotton pads. It’s definitely hydrating and refreshing! My skin was able to absorb the effects well too. I also plan to use compressed facial masks soon to cover my whole face. Overall, it was cooling, hydrating, and moisturising.

๐Ÿ’ฆ Generally, it’s hydration and moisturising effects are its strong points. It feels like splashing cool water on your face.
๐Ÿ’ฆ Some may be iffy about the scent, but personally it’s not an issue to me. It smells like something you would be able to sniff at a hospital. I like the medical scent though.
๐Ÿ’ฆ Its texture makes it really great for layering. Great for soaking pads as well.
๐Ÿ’ฆ It’s very gentle as there has been no stinging and adverse reactions on my skin. I also wipe my eye area without fear of hurting my already damaged eyes.
๐Ÿ’ฆ I might not be able to test is “supporting” efficacy on their other products, but it was able to support products from other brands. My skin became more obedient and drank the good stuff from the activator and other succeeding products.
๐Ÿ’ฆ Plus point for packaging! It’s minimalistic and IG worthy. However, I wish it could be in a more recyclable packaging or in a pump bottle.

BENEFITS OF ALOE ACTIVATOR:
๐ŸŒฑ A splendid skin conditioner
๐ŸŒฑ Gentle for the entire face, even in the eye area
๐ŸŒฑ Cleans, soothes, and refreshes
๐ŸŒฑ Over 98% pure aloe vera gel
๐ŸŒฑ Supports the efficacy and performance of other Forever skincare

The photo is inspired by the simplicity of this product. It’s simple… Simply effective! Thank you so much @aloeveraforskin.ph for sending this to me ๐Ÿ’™

Beauty Care Essentials Hair Mayonaise Extreme Hair Repair Mask* โ€ข Review

I started my blog with hopes of getting clearer skin and more self confidence that I also forgot to take care of other parts of my body. I give less priority to haircare because I used to have thick, shiny hair but ever since I dyed it, it has been quite dry and shedding. This is why I’m so lucky that @lets.colove @beautycareessentials sent this product for me to use!

Application: I scoop a handful of the product and massage it on my scalp and ends. I leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing.

My experience:
๐Ÿงด My hair had more volume when it dried compared to using normal volumizing conditioners
๐Ÿงด The mask itself had a very enticing smell. It makes me want to mask everyday!
๐Ÿงด The texture is smooth and silky which makes it easier to massage on my scalp
๐Ÿงด No itchiness, dandruff, and adverse reactions were seen when I used this
๐Ÿงด I’m always iffy about scooping things with my bare hands so I kind of wish it was in a tube packaging like most conditioners or hair masks are

Maymorning Cholecera Bright Face Hydration Cream* โ€ข Review

What it is:
โ€ข Contains cholesterol ceramide (Chole + Cera) to help strengthen skin barrier
โ€ข 10,000ppm of liposome ceramide
โ€ข Helps to maintain the antioxidant effect and elastic skin
โ€ข Recommended for dry and damaged skin barriers

My thoughts and experiences:
โ€ข The cream is in a tube packaging which makes it hygienic
โ€ข The texture is not too heavy and creamy, which would not clog pores on oily, acne prone skin types!
โ€ข I use this day and night and there were no breakouts and adverse reactions.
โ€ข It gives a slight creamy yet velvet finish which I love, since I feel like there’s actually something that’s protecting my face
โ€ข My skin felt more plump and hydrated
โ€ข No scent โœŠ Perfect for scent-sitive people
โ€ข Unfortunately, it’s hard to purchase this in the Philippines since there’s no official distributor yet which makes me sad that I can’t repurchase this once it empties

Pyunkang Yul Acne Dressing Mask Pack* | Review

A little self-care in the middle of the week

WHAT IT IS:
โ€ข A powerhouse mask pack of four essence-soaked patches that targets blemishes at all stages, even before you see them on your skin.
โ€ข Provides maximum strength acne treatment to prevent and clear blemishes.
โ€ข Contains everything you need to cleanse and moisturize skin.

KEY INGREDIENTS:
โ€ข Sodium Hyaluronate โ€“ promotes wound healing
โ€ข Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract โ€“ acne-fighting

FULL INGREDIENTS:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, PEG-60, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA

PACKAGING: The container comes with an easy peel opening. Look at the video how convenient it is! The mask is actually divided into 4 sheets, which you can put on your target areas.

SCENT: No noticeable scent

MASKING TIME: 5-10 minutes. I masked for 7 minutes because the sheets fell off my face.

MY THOUGHTS:
โ€ข The sheets are big for my chin area so I cut one sheet into two, then put one on my nose and one on my chin
โ€ข The sheets were soaked in essence. I plan to soak cotton pads on the essence since it looks good for another round of masking
โ€ข The easy peel is very convenient and personally looks cleaner than torn ones. They look sleek for #empties!

MY EXPERIENCE:
โ€ข It provided great hydration, as my face felt plump after the sheets fell off.
โ€ข The sheets seem to dry faster than most masks, but it’s not a bother.
โ€ข Despite its claims to sooth redness and inflammation, there was no noticeable difference after masking. Continuous use is needed to see the difference.
