@peachyskinnn turns one today! ๐Ÿค

I started my account last April 27, 2019 as a skincare diary for myself. I never had the perfect, glass skin while growing up and college life had definitely made my skin worse. I’ve thought of putting up my own blog after seeing several skincare accounts on my feed.

This account helped me become more accepting of my skin condition. I learned what it means to be an advocate of #acnepositivity, something I wished I learned during my teenage years. It also served as an outlet when I’m really stressed due to life. I really like taking photos (not selfies, but hopefully I’ll be more confident enough to post more) and product shoots turned out to be fun. I also used to write articles on my junior high school’s paper, so putting up a blog is good for me to retain what I’ve learned in English class (lol) but the real reason is that I find myself being more able to express what I want to say through writing.

As this skincare blog turns one, I hope I will be able to inspire everyone who stumbles on my account to do whatever they want! If putting up a blog makes you happy, go for it. If you love posting #OOTDs, then post to your hearts’ content! What matters is that doing these seemingly little things make you feel better about yourselves.

Thank you so much for all the love you have been giving me and my blog! โค

My little passion project! Never thought it’s already been a year.

Dearmay uses safe and naturally-derived ingredients to cater the skincare and beauty needs of Asian women. It provides products that can unleash your beauty at any time of the year.

DEARMAY BREEZE VELVET LIPTINT
โ€” Velvety, cream formula
โ€” Matte finish
โ€” Leaves lips feeling soft and lightweight

PACKAGING
โ€” Frosted plastic packaging to showcase the colour of the liptint
โ€” Doefoot applicator is reasonable in size and spreads the colour well
โ€” Packaging does not seem to easily break as long as it’s not thrown at great heights

COLOUR INTENSITY
โ€” The colours, when applied, generally resembles the colours found in their packaging
โ€” 1 swipe: Enough to colour the whole bottom lip and create a gradient lip
โ€” 2 swipes: Gives off a strong, matte look

WEARABILITY
โ€” With a mask: 2 hours once it dries
โ€” Without a mask: 4 hours
โ€” Once it dries, it feels velvety although it looks very matte. It’s versatile since you can also wear it using gradients and combining colours.
โ€” It doesn’t give emphasis on my lip lines, although I don’t have prominent lines to begin with. However, the whole application was smooth and so is its finish.

#1 Red Orange on my cheeks and lips

MY EXPERIENCE
โ€” It is true to its claims that it feels lightweight and soft on the lips. Since this is a velvet liptint, there is minimal transfer and it gets easily removed when eating, I highly suggest that this liptint is those who do not mind touching up every few hours.
โ€” The colours are not too bright nor too dull. #1 Red Orange is the brightest shade but it doesn’t look neon because of its coral undertone.
โ€” My personal favourite was #2 Nude Peach because it’s basically a dupe of Moonshot’s lipstick (Shade: Old Rose).
โ€” VERSATILITY on point. I was able to use this as a blush and it hugged my skin better than a usual blush. The colours (except Nude Peach) look great for a “drunk blush” concept.
โ€” It highlights my skin colour. I look whiter with using the bold colours (Red Orange and Wild Berry).
โ€” These look good for everyday use, especially for working lady bosses! The colours give off a subtle boss vibe.

PRICE
299 for 4.4g (previously 359) โ€” Good price to product ratio โœจ Especially since this liptint doesn’t need to consume a lot of swipes to get the pop of colour you need.

VERDICT
โ€” Honestly, I feel that this is better than my usual velvet liptints! Dearmay is more lightweight and less distracting when I move my lips because it doesn’t stay velvety. It is also inexpensive as compared to buying a water-based liptint for the same price. I would definitely recommend this, especially 2 Nude Peach as it’s my new fave!

REVIEW: Lupa Essentials Matcha Mask

How do you prefer your matcha? On your cup or on your face? ๐Ÿ’š Here we are with another #PHeachysreviews ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ featuring a local brand, Lupa Essentials.

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you would know I bought several of their clay masks โ˜บ One of these masks is the Matcha Mask!

๐Œ๐€๐“๐‚๐‡๐€ ๐Œ๐€๐’๐Š
Ingredients:
๐Ÿต French green clay: absorbs oils and removes impurities; smoothens skin; delivers nourishing minerals to the skin; increases circulation; tightens pores; calms skin inflammation
๐Ÿต Kaolin clay: helps control oiliness; natural detoxifier and exfoliator; can soothe rashes and irritation; tones your skin
๐Ÿต Almonds: rich in Vitamin E, which nourishes and softens the skin. *Note โ€” applying its oil/milk protects the skin from damage caused by sun exposure as well
๐Ÿต Matcha: contains chlorophyll which protects our skin from sun damage and reduce photo-aging; also contains epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG which gives great antibacterial and antibiotic properties. It also promotes smoother and supple skin
๐Ÿต Allantoin: soothing and non-irritating; supports cell regeneration; softens skin

Things to consider before buying:
โ€” Almond oil can triggerย allergic reactionsย in people with nut allergies, depending on how a particular oil product was processed. Because almonds are a tree nut, people with allergies to tree nuts are particularly at risk for allergic reactions, and therefore should not use almond oil.

My experience:
My pores have been smaller since using this. It did not completely blur my pores but it significantly reduced its visibility on cam. My face feels tightened with each use. What I love about this mask is that it’s not drying, although this may not suit every skin type. My friend who has combination skin had a reaction and felt her skin got too dry while using this. I, however, felt refreshed as I have oily, acne prone skin. The mask helps reduce redness.

Overall, I see myself purchasing this one!

REVIEW: Johnson’sยฎ Milk + Rice Bath and Johnson’sยฎ Active Kidsโ„ข Shiny Drops Shampoo

Duirng the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), my skin was, unfortunately, desensitized. Why? I don’t know the exact cause but the combination of lack of sleep, stress, environment, and amount of products I try seem to be the triggering factor for my body acne.

I had developed acne on my whole chest and back, which then spread to my armpit and inner thigh area. My mother couldn’t stand it so she bought me these products. Read below to hear my thoughts on these two ECQ lifesavers.

Johnson’sยฎ Milk + Rice Bath
Claims:
โ€“ pH Balanced & Hypoallergenic, tested with pediatricians
โ€“ Helps skin feel soft and smooth
โ€“ With Milk proteins, rice extracts, plus multiple vitamins and minerals
โ€“ Two times more moisturizing versus regular bar soap

Packaging:
โ€“ 100ml; Brand new items have a seal blocking the “cap”. There are also other several sizes

Scent & Texture:
โ€“ It smells like milk! The bath lathers well if used generously

My Experience:
This has helped my skin texture by a lot! It reduced its redness and acne. The scent and texture makes me feel refreshed after a good bath. Thanks to this product, I only have to worry about my acne scars now. It’s really gentle and I did not experience any adverse reaction.

Johnson’sยฎ Active Kidsโ„ข Shiny Drops Shampoo
Claims:
โ€“ pH Balanced, tested with pediatricians
โ€“ Advanced formula for growing kidsโ€™ hair needs
โ€“ With Argan oil & silk proteins for shiny & soft hair

My Experience:
So far so good! My hair feels refreshed after washing. This did not give me any adverse reaction and the argan oil helps my hair look shinier. It lathers a little less than usual shampoos but it still feels good on the scalp.

OVERALL:
I love how Johnson’s products are safe for both babies and adults! I plan to keep on using these products even if my skin gets better and well enough to try other products.

REVIEW: Coxir Black Snail Collagen Emulsion*

Apologies for the overdue! ๐Ÿฅบ A few months ago, I was lucky enough to win this emulsion from @skincarefair‘s giveaway. By the way, I love her minimal feed and maximum quality reviews โ˜บ So I hope you check out her content. Anyways, let us dive into the review!

โ€“ One pump is sufficient for the whole face

I will list experiences of two different skin types since my mother also uses this on a daily basis.

My Experience (Skin Type: Oily, acne prone)
I feel my skin being lifted with each use. Its tightening effect does not feel temporary, and it is also very hydrating. The emulsion did not give my skin any adverse reactions. The area where I notice the most lifting effect is near my undereye area. For anti-aging claims, I could not evaluate this as my skin is still young BUT I do feel that using this has nourished my skin and is a great preventive measure against aging.

Mother’s Experience (Skin Type: Mature, Normal)
My mother is in her mid50s. She stated she does not notice any changes regarding lifting nor anti-aging claims. Although, upon my observation, there is minimal lifting near the undereye area. She did not develop any adverse reaction while using this product.

OVERALL
Like most anti-aging products, it is hard to evaluate its true effect until you finished bottles of a product. However, the emulsion was definitely nourishing and works for oily skin, despite that this is best suited for dry skin.

Disclaimer: Our experiences vary. What works for us may not work for you.

Troiareuke Skin Complex Formula Ampoule โ€” Mela-C Formula* [REVIEW]

One of my skin concerns since high school is dealing with acne scars. I’ve tried several brightening products in order to address this problem. I’m still battling with PIH ๐Ÿ˜… so I was lucky enough to receive this toner mist from @troiareuke_official during the @skinfluencersph Grand Meetup โค Read below to see my thoughts:

Claims
โ€” Different from most toners that only tones the skin. It keeps skin toning and moisture
โ€” Can be used as a mist to maximize skin moisturising
โ€” Boosting with Troi Ampoule Water Essence
โ€” Calming and soothing

Notes
โ€” Paraben, sulfate, alcohol, silicone, EU Allergen free
โ€” NOT FA safe

Key Ingredients
โ€” Niacinamide: anti-aging and brightening
โ€” Sodium Hyaluronate: promotes wound healing
โ€” Pine bark extract: skin protecting
โ€” Polysaccharide: calming

The Mela-C Formula has these additional key ingredients:
โ€” Ellagic acid (Pomegranate extract): 5 times stronger than albutine; strong whitening effect
โ€” Phytochemical: brightening and whitening

Packaging & Mist
The packaging is a transparent, plastic spray bottle. The mist is precise but it’s not fine. Two sprays suffice already, but I add another one for the neck area.

Price: $45.90 or ~โ‚ฑ2,322 for 180ml

My Experience
It is true to its claims when it comes to moisturising and brightening. Each spray gives a subtle, healthy glow. I feel refreshed whenever I use this toner mist. However, this did not help with calming and soothing my acne. Anti-aging properties weren’t also seen because I’m still young and it would take a lot of time to see if a product is good at anti-aging. However, I do feel $45.90 is too expensive for a toner with claims that I could also see with other cheaper products. The mist isn’t as fine, and I feel a bit iffy about it. It also contains fragrance, so watch out for this.

Overall, if the price could go down, I would gladly repurchase this ๐Ÿ’› but for now, I will have to pass.

REVIEW: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

I know I’ve already made a review about this cleanser, but this is more of an updated review of this product! Since the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), I wasn’t really able to take my staple cleansers to the province. I’m glad I left this cleanser in Bicol. Anyways, let’s dive into the review!

CLAIMS
โ€” A pore cleansing foam with Jeju volcanic clusters to absorb serum and purify pores

KEY INGREDIENT
โ€” Jeju’s Volcanic Scoria: an alkaline substance with pH level similar to the human body; an ingredient free from impurities

THOUGHTS
โ€” Texture: soft, thick, and rich; lathers beautifully. It has little beads that are not abrasive for deep cleansing
โ€” Scent: fragrant but not overpowering

MY EXPERIENCE
This is one of the cleansers that made me fall in love with K-beauty! It definitely controls my sebum production without it being too stripping. However, it is more stripping than low pH cleansers. I do not mind that though. I use this in the AM and PM and it prevents further breakouts! While it does not prevent hormonal acne (I doubt any product can really prevent this), it lessens them. I am very oily and acne prone so having just one to two zits per month is already a huge success!

It is also able to remove light makeup (tinted sunscreen, eyebrow pencil, and lip balm) which shortens my skincare routine. Whenever I use this, it leaves a refreshing feeling. This basically made me love washing my face!

Note: This packaging is already discontinued.

COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild Review

#pr #gifted COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild [REVIEW]

Finally, the last review for the AC Collection series! This was gifted by @stylekorean_global during their Try Me, Review Me event with @cosrx โค COSRX is a certified K-beauty favourite. I’m not new to trying this brand but it’s a different experience incorporating this collection in my skincare routine.

The Cosrx AC Collection Mild has a pH level of 4.0~5.0 and has the following key ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, CentellAC-Rx Complex, and Gluconolactone.

From https://www.cosrx.com/cosrx-ac-collection-calming-liquid-mild-1.html

๐‘ช๐’๐’‚๐’Š๐’Ž๐’”
A gentle, soothing daily toner that removes excess sebum and prevents further breakouts

๐‘ด๐’š ๐‘ฌ๐’™๐’‘๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’†๐’๐’„๐’†
It has a runny, watery texture. I prefer using this without a cotton pad because it provides more hydration and it feels more soothing that way. I could see that my pimples slowly reduce redness when I use this toner. It’s also gentle enough for sensitive skin! It prevents further breakouts but I do still get acne when it’s hormonal.

Overall, I would repurchase once I’m out of toners.

Pyunkang Yul ACNE Facial Cleanser Review

#gifted #pr Pyunkang Yul ACNE Facial Cleanser [REVIEW]

Thank you @gobloomandglow for sending this product during the @skinfluencersph Grand Meetup held last January 25 โค Go Bloom and Glow is the official PH distributor of big K-beauty brands such as Jumiso and PKY @pyunkangyul.ph. You can also get P100 off when you use my code “TANZOR100” with a minimum spend of P1,000.

The PKY ACNE Facial Cleanser is free from parabens, sulfate, alcohol, silicone, EU allergens, and is fungal acne (FA) safe. Formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin, this hypoallergenic cleanser claims to purge the deepest impurities, without stripping the skin. Its key ingredients are Ledebouriella sesamoids extract, White willow extract, salicylic acid (BHA) and tannin, Tiger lily, Copper tripeptide, and Centella asiatica extract.

It comes in a tube packaging and dispenses a good amount of product with ease. The packaging is a stunner as it is minimalistic. It retails for P430.

The product’s texture is clear and slightly feels like gel. I am bummed that this does NOT lather as much as other facial cleansers I’ve tried, although it starts to make bubbles when you wet your face first before applying this product.

I have oily, acne-prone skin and this was a good AM cleanser for me as I don’t really need “heavy duty” skincare products to address my skin concerns during my morning routine. It’s true to its claims as I feel my skin is deeply cleansed when using this without it feeling dry. While it does work great, I feel that I’ve been used to cleansers with more “oomph” to their pimple fighting abilities. It’s so gentle that I could use this cleanser to wash off babies’ faces.

To summarize:
Pros: Gentle, perfect for every day use, no irritations, safe from harmful ingredients, quite affordable, nonstripping
Cons: May be too gentle

Would I repurchase? I honestly would despite this cleanser being too gentle for my skin because it’s a great AM cleanser โค It’s a “no fuss” product and easily lovable.

In Her Element Butterlips Conditioning Color*: A Review

You can avail yours at inherelement.com

Happy International Women’s Month โ™ก Thank you so much @inher_element for sending your newest products for me to try! โค IHE is a local brand that goes by the saying “Maximum glow for Minimum effort Skincare”.

Their newest item, the Butterlips Conditioning Color, has a balm & lipstick hybrid formula, which delivers a juicy wash of moisturizing colour on the lips. It’s designed to be comfortable and low-maintanenance during the day, so that you don’t need to take too much precious time retouching.

It comes in three shades: Mayari, Tala, and Hanan โ™ก A little fun fact! The shade names were derived from Philippine Mythology. Mayari was the goddess of the moon; Tala was the goddess of the stars; and Hanan was the goddess of the morning/dawn. They were all demigods โ€“ half mortal, half god.

Shades: Hanan, Tala, Mayari
Up close and personal

My experience:
The product’s packaging was a little wobbly when I twist it to elevate the product. Unfortunately, one of the shades, Tala, didn’t fully twist back to its normal placement. It’s a good thing that their caps are not easily falling off, so it won’t bother me anytime soon. It seamlessly glided on my lips and it felt light and smooth, a little lighter than the usual balm type. The shades suited well for my skin type (I have fair skin). It’s not transferproof, but its longetivity is decently fair for a balm (2-3hours). It doesn’t emphasize the lines on my lips, and Hanan (my current favourite) instantly helped my skin looked brighter! They also have a decent amount of product, which I believe will last a long time.

I’m also glad to announce that you can get 5% off your purchase in IHE’s website; there’s no minimum spend โ™ก Use @skinfluencersph’s code: “SPFH” upon checkout. The promo will last until March 24, 2020.

Each product costs PHP345; the whole set costs PHP875
